New York Fashion Week is in full effect and everyone is buzzing about  The Jason Wu Collection. If his name sounds familiar it's because  Jason Wu designed the beautiful, one shoulder gown worn by our first  lady Michelle Obama on Inauguration night. Wu combines modern  lifestyle dressing with the spirit and detailing of haute couture in a  way that is both innovative and romantically reflective.

At the age of 27, Wu has already achieved many accomplishments. At age 9, Wu began learning how to sew, draft patterns, and sketch in fashion  proportions by using dolls and mannequins. By the age of 14, he went to study sculpture in Tokyo and then spent his senior year of high  school in Paris, where he decided to become a fashion designer. Wu  then enrolled in the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York.

The Jason Wu Collection debuted in February 2006. His collections is  stocked at the the finest luxury stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman  Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Ikram, Jeffrey and others.

Jason won The Fashion Group International's Rising Star Award for  Women's Ready-to-Wear in January 2009 and in July 2008 he was named  one of the finalists in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
